McHappy Day

McHappy Day is a global McDonald's fundraiser that generates millions of dollars worldwide for Ronald McDonald House Charities(RMHC), the nonprofit of choice for the fast-food chain.

Customers can help support RMHCA through the "Give A Hand" program where paper hands are sold for $1, $3 or $5 between November 10th and 20th with proceeds going to the charity. Hands will be displayed inside the restaurants through November, reminding Arkansans to lend a hand to support those with an ill or injured child. Each store receives 1600 hands to sell and if every store sold all of their hands, it would mean that the community could donate $124,800 in just ten days to help families and their children in need.
Social responsibility has been a fundamental part of McDonald's business for more than 50 years. David Stokes, President of the Central Arkansas McDonald's Co-op, says that they are proud to support McHappy Day. "Every year in November, we're reminded of the generosity this community demonstrates by their participation in our McHappy Day fundraising efforts. It's especially fulfilling to know that we're directly benefiting our local RMHC Chapter and children in Arkansas and surrounding states."

McDonald's is not only supportive from November 10th to the 20th, but also stores are donating a portion of the proceeds to RMHCA from the sale of each Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal. So now when you purchase a Happy Meal, you can give back to children and families that need it most each and every day of the year.

Additionally, customers are able to give back through the "in-restaurant" Donation Boxes located near the registers or drive-thru windows. Last year, McDonald's raised nearly 20 million dollars for RMHC through the "in-restaurant" Donation Boxes.
